Recruiting
A company’s success does not depend solely on the products or services it provides. Employee performance is also an integral part of its activities. Strengthening a work team is crucial to ensuring company growth.
A labour survey of Gatineau Valley companies conducted last fall by BIP Recherche for SADC revealed that the main challenge facing 44% of companies on the territory is recruiting workers.
Recruiting plays a major role in companies and is a key factor in their development. As a result, it is essential that they go about it the right way to get the best results.
For small and big businesses alike, every employee hired represents a challenge. This is an important step where companies acquire the skills they need. Companies must therefore be able to use the various channels of communication to attract qualified and motivated candidates.
When there is a labour shortage, however, this process becomes more difficult, which may require employers to change qualification requirements or stray from the beaten path to acquire enough workers. This requires employers to be more open-minded and to consider recruiting from non-conventional sources (retirees, immigrants, the handicapped, the self-employed, remote or part-time workers, and so on).
It is important for companies to have a process in place to define the requirements of the positions to be staffed along with recruiting and selection policies in order to hire the right people.
To help you with these and other topics, the Gatineau Valley SADC and its partners would like to invite you to sign up for its labour symposium to take place next February 26 and 27, at which several subjects, particularly recruiting, will be discussed.
